Where to Start
Have you been wanting a new website for your business, and not sure where to begin? Large or small, every company/organization needs a website. That is a given. But how do you get the information together that your web designer needs to build you new site?
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Text from current brochures
- Testimonials from clients
- Articles relevant to your business
- Links to related sites
- Video clips, presentations
- Audio clips, music (copyright free)
- Company logos
- Photos related to your business
- Forms you may want online
- Contact information
In addition to the above, it is helpful to know what colors your would like for your new site. We suggest picking your top two favorites. It is also helpful to have a basic design style in mind. If you can surf the web and see some sites you like, then your designer will have a better idea of what you want the end result to look like – unique to your business of coarse. And then there is function – what do you want your new website to do for your business or organization? What’s the purpose? Who is the site for?
By taking some time to think these things through, you will be much more pleased with the results when your new site is done. The hardest part is getting started!
